Breastfeeding? New Mom? Tips for more sleep

Whether you are breastfeeding or bottlefeeding, I have a tip to get more sleep. Keep track of what time your last feeding is before normal bedtime for you. For example, let’s say your last feeding is normally around 10pm. Instead of you feeding, have your husband ( or other) give a bottle for this feeding. And, you go to bed right after the feeding before. Let’s say that you feed at around 8pm, then 10pm as above. Right after that 8pm feeding, you go to bed. If your husband gives the feeding at 10pm, you won’t be up until midnight. This could give you a good 4 solid hours of sleep!

The trick of course is if you are breastfeeding, you need to condition your baby to drinking from a bottle milk that you have pumped. Most babies associate you with breasts. So, some babies will not even take a bottle from you but they will from someone else. If you are bottlefeeding, it is a little easier.

One more thing. During the day you need to nap at the same time your baby does, or at least a little bit.
